Hundreds of hawkers and traders took over the pavement of the Mall and other unapproved areas to conduct their business.

The MCE for La Dadekotopon, Gladys Man Dede, said that even though his outfit had held several meetings with the leadership of the traders in order to get them an alternative place, the traders have refused to move.

Chief Supt. Oduro Amaning, the La Police Commander said the area will be monitored to ensure that the traders do not return.

He also indicated that officials of the assembly who would be found taking money from traders will not be spared.
