Christmas has largely been peaceful - Police

Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur has told Pulse.com.gh that in their assessment of crime so far, the Christmas has largely been peaceful.

 

The Ghana police service has expressed satisfaction with the way Ghanaians comported themselves by staying away from crime during the festive period.

Criminals usually step up their activities and attack members of the public during the yuletide.

But, Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur has told Pulse.com.gh that in their assessment of crime so far, the Christmas has largely been peaceful.

"So far so good. Ghanaians have been able to give us a peaceful Christmas this year", adding that the level of crime was "much much better" as compared to last year.

He however indicated that the police is still recording every incident during the festivities in order to come out with specific details in relation to the gravity of crime during, before and after christmas.

The Ghana Police Service introduced its campaign dubbed ‘Operation Father Christmas’ ahead of the festivities to fight crime.

Thousands of Police personnel were deployed throughout the country to offer enhanced protection to citizens from criminal activities and miscreants during the yuletide.
