Here is a list of 12 of such women who motivated others to be the best they can be.

The Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection did not start her position on a good note especially after all the brouhaha surrounding her vetting and confirmation.
Despite the rough start she seems to be defying the odds.
A lesson to learn from her is to rise above all issues you face and be a better person or deliver on what you are assigned not only to shame your critics but to also make you a better person.

The former Minister of Justice and Attorney General gave her support to make sure Ghana wins the maritime dispute between Cote D’Ivoire even after her party had handed over.
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice Gloria Akuffo is on record to have said that her predecessor prayed with her a day before the ITLOS ruling.
Women partnering to do great things. Women are not their own enemies as they say.

• Barbara Mahama
Husband of Barbara Mahama died at Denkyira Obuase in May 2017. Ghanaians were shocked and wondered how the widow Barbara Mahama was going to survive.
The mother of two shocked everybody when she gathered courage and read the tribute to her husband on the day he was buried.

As she read many could feel her pain but also got inspired because of her visible strength. She made others in similar situations as her realise they will also thrive after the pain.
• Rebecca Akufo-Addo
The first lady of Ghana has motivated many people to know they can make huge differences even in small corners.
Mrs Akufo-Addo partnered the Multimedia Group to raise funds for the completion of work on a new Mother and Baby Unit at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
One can argue that she is the first lady and so can pull strings but others can also occupy the same position and do nothing.

• Samira Bawumia
The wife of Ghana’s Vice President Samira Bawumia is every definition of decent but beautiful.
She makes us realise you can cover-up and still look elegant.
• Ebony
The 90s bad girl Ebony has been criticised a lot this year for her dressing.

However, she serves as a motivation for others hoping to get into the Ghanaian music industry.
At least one can learn that even at 20 or younger you can make it if you put your mind to it.
• Regina Honu
Regina Honu is a Ghanaian Social Entrepreneur, software developer and founder of Soronko Solutions, a software development company in Ghana.
She has also opened Soronko Academy, the first coding and Human-centered design school for children and young adults in West Africa.

She was also named as one of the six women making an impact in Tech in Africa and one of the ten female entrepreneurs to watch in emerging economies.

• Oheneyere Gifty Anti (OGA)
We all know the story of OGA. She married and conceived at an age many medical experts will rule out the possibility of any pregnancy.
She always attributes her bundle of joy to the ‘crazy faith’ she has in God.

She inspires the ladies who are yet to marry that they will certainly find a man who loves them and also motivates the woman who is still searching for a child that all is not lost.
• Mansa Nettey
Madam Mansa Nettey is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of StanChart Ghana.
She assumed office on March 1, 2017, as the first female CEO of the Bank.
Her breadth of knowledge and deep insights of the market has driven the bank to higher heights.

The motivation that women can be great leaders comes to play.
• Nana Aba Anamoah
The broadcast journalist with GhOne has among other things made the discussion of sports easy and fun. She has also broken the myth that ‘sports are for men only’.
She is also one of the best journalists Ghana can boast of currently. At the recent RTP awards she won several of them showing that hardwork pays.
Many thought her dismissal from TV3 would make her give up. But she sailed through and rather came out better.

• The women of Pepperdem Ministries (PDM)
I was not completing this list without adding PDM. Pepperdem Ministries is a movement of feminist.
Their mission is to “facilitate learning, unlearning and re-learning of the narratives both male and females have been operating by, in order to establish a better approach to our socialization. The issues we technically address are certain ingrained gender norms and how partial it can be against women.”
Some people were against them on social media when they started but they never gave up. They still ‘fought’ for what they believed in.
How does that not motivate you? If you believe in something, some people will stand against you. All you need is to be strong, gradually they will understand you and join you win.
