Investigative journalist accused of hiring land guards to harass grantees of land

The accusation is coming from the East Dadekotopon Development Trust (EDDT) which claims that the said lands are under its management.

According to EDDT, it has a court judgement and has been given trust over parcels of land behind the Trade Fair Center at La in Accra.

It said it even has a land title certificate to that effect, and so wonders why a gentleman called Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsru III and some of his cronies from the La Traditional Council would engage in the illegal and fraudulent sale of the said lands without proper and genuine documents covering them.

The EDDT said some buyers of the land are now claiming their monies because of what they perceive as a danger in acquiring the land.

The Trust also claimed that Anas is brandishing a High Court judgement granted by Justice Ofori Atta, which has been quashed by an Appeal Court and is using that judgement to defraud unsuspecting people through the sale of the said lands.

According to the EDDT, the move by Anas constitutes contempt of court.

“The activities of Anas Arimeyaw Anas in bringing land guards to harass and intimidate peace-loving grantees of land under the management of EDDT are gradually posing a serious threat to human life and property,” the EDDT said in a statement.

The EDDT has therefore asked security agencies and relevant authorities to intervene and bring “perpetrators to book”.

Meanwhile, the lawyer for Anas, Mr Kwame Gyan, has told Accra-based Class FM that the aggrieved party should to go to court if they have any concerns, instead of resorting to a press conference.
