The doctors embarked on the industrial action over government’s inability to agree on their Conditions of Service.
A directive by the National Labour Commission to resume duty yesterday, Thursday August 20 was ignored by the physicians.
But a text message being forwarded to members of the GMA and intercepted by Starr News said the doctors are willing to go back to the negotiation table with the government.
Below are details of the text message being sent to members of the GMA"Dear GMA member, at an emergency council meeting held on friday, 21st august, 2015, nec has taken the decision to suspend the ongoing industrial action. all members are to restore full services. this is effective monday, 24th august, 2015.
"This decision was taken to ensure that our ultimate goal to secure signed conditions of service document is achieved. an official announcement would be made later in the day. please note that the greater Accra division cpd/meeting has been postponed to 30th august 2015.thanks
