And according to one of the station's news anchors, Abdul Hayi Moomen, "truncating the Miss Ghana broadcast would have amounted to a breach of contract which could have cost millions of Ghana cedis in judgement debts payment."

He explained in a Facebook post that "GBC operates 6 channels, GTV, GBC24, GTV GOVERN, OBONU TV, GTV LIFE AND GTV SPORTS PLUS. GTV had signed a contract to broadcast the Miss Ghana show.

"The fact that GTV doesn't show something does not mean that GBC as a corporate body has neglected that issue."

GTV, during the landmark ruling of the border dispute between Ghana and Ivory Coast, came in for criticism for showing cartoons during the ruling of the case when private TV station like Joy News ad TV3 broadcast it live.
