Police arrest 18 suspected criminals in Cape Coast

The move, according to the police in the region, was part of efforts to protect staff of the Cape Coast Metro Hospital who have been complaining about the activities of the suspected criminals.

Staff of the hospital had petitioned the government to beef up security in and around the hospital after several staff came under attack.

Central regional Police commander, COP Rev. Nenyi Ampah Benin, noted that the police patrol teams have increased their surveillance in the area and have, in a swoop, arrested some 18 suspected criminals.

He also assured the staff and management of the hospital that security around the facility has been enhanced with an increased patrol on the main roads in the metropolis.
