Hymen of 4-year-old not broken, medical report says

This is in spite of claims by the parents of the girl who sent their daughter for a medical examination that the little girl bled for three days.

The mother of the victim, Monica Nyarko had said that she realised what had happened to her daughter when she was bathing her upon her return, but the girl was not willing to as she was in severe pain.

The 4-year-old later told her mother that one Kwabena had inserted his manhood in her in a toilet facility, and had warned her not to speak about it else she would be killed.

The mother said a chief in the area has refused to seek justice for her, as the chief argued that the community gods say the suspect is innocent.

Ms Nyarko said that her daughter is in pain and this is really affecting her health.

Many have since condemned the act and have demanded justice for the little girl.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante-Apeatu in his response has directed the regional police command to investigate the case as well as “focus on how to save the child.”

But Accra-based Joy FM reports that a doctor' s examination at the St. Francis Xavier hospital at Assin Fosu has found out that there were no lacerations indicative of forceful penetration.

The report, however, stated that the vulva was moist and appeared inflamed.

There was a screening for infection which also turned out negative.

The little girl was subsequently placed on antibiotics.
