Anthony Nana Wiafe was going round taking monies from unsuspecting victims, with the promise to help them get enlisted into the Ghana Armed Forces.
After his arrest, the Police retrieved some military Boots, Caps, Uniforms and other paraphernalia from the house of the suspect.
Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, said that, on 2nd October 2017 at 8: 20pm, the victims, Alfred Asante and Emelia Odame both of whom lives at Kwesi Nyarko, a community near Nsawam assisted the police to apprehend Anthony Nana Wiafe.
The arrest follows a surveillance in the area after his conducts raised suspicion.
The police said the Victims lodged a complaint that, on 2nd and 15th September 2017, Anthony Nana Wiafe approached them and introduced himself as a military officer working at the Air Force and collected an amount of GH¢c1,100 and GH¢600 from them to help them get recruited into the Ghana Arm Forces.
He said, the suspect is in police custody and a preliminary investigation by the Police revealed that, he used similar modus operandi to defraud other people.
