Six more people have been confirmed dead in Techiman following the spread of the Pneumococcal Meningitis to the area.
The disease has so far killed nine people in Tain, Wenchi and Bruohan in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Health authorities have also indicated that 21 cases have been reported so far.
Techiman South Municipal Health Director Damien Punguyire has however said that the disease is being controlled.
“We have not reached an epidemic or an outbreak level. But we are recording cases that are moving towards an outbreak. We are going to communities where cases are coming from to follow up and ensure that there are no cases that are left and we are also asking people to report early when they discover any signs or symptoms of the ailment,” Dr Punguyire has told Accra-based Joy FM.
Meanwhile, Government has provided an additional GH¢150,000 to the Brong Ahafo Region to help fight the outbreak of meningitis in the area.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Victor Asare Bampoe who made this known while interacting with health directors said government will put in more effort to control the outbreak.
The intervention package includes logistics and a review of all health insurance claims for accelerated payments.
