This follows the progress of work done on the Ridge Hospital expansion project.

The Ridge Hospital will soon become the Greater Accra regional hospital, President John Mahama has said.

The Ridge Hospital project involves the design, construction, procurement and installation of equipment for the rehabilitation of the hospital.

The project is expected to be completed in 2016, and is being financed with a Government of Ghana mixed credit facility of US$250 million from Exim Bank and the HSBC Bank.

Speaking at the launch of the book, “Accounting To The People” at the Banquet Hall- State House in Accra, President Mahama said "We assume that Korlebu is Greater Accra Regional Hospital. No, Korlebu is a specialist hospital; it is not supposed to be handling ordinary cases."
