Speaking in a broadcast interview Friday, Mr Ussif said the idea of insurance police for NSS was mooted by the National Service Personnel Association.

He made the comments after the former Acting Director of the NSS, Dr Micheal Kpesa Whyte called the  insurance package as "create, loot and share."

"If they have gone to their (NASPA) Congress and had brought a proposal that they want insurance package, who am to say no…am very surprised that Dr Kpesa Whyte who is an immediate NSS Boss would be making such claim,” he said on Asempa FM on Friday.

Mr Whyte had also alleged that the insurance companies chosen for the program financed the campaign of the NPP.

Responding to the charge, Mr Ussif said:“The insurance package is not for only one insurance, we have GLICO, Vanguard, Enterprise, GN Bank [and others]…how can all of them be sponsor of one political party,?” he quizzed.
