No looming power cuts - VRA assures Ghanaians

A group that is identifying itself as Energy Workers Association, a faction of the Authorities employee union, is threatening to escalate its industrial action suit against VRA to the extent that it will cost the nation power supply if their demands are not met.

However, in a move to allay fears of consumers, the Authority issued a statement assuring Ghanaians not to panic.

It said: “We also categorically state that the group does not have the mandate to speak on behalf of the Authority in relation to its operations.”

“Management has, therefore, taken a very serious view of the incident and is investigating the circumstances that led to its occurrence", the statement said.
