Baby Aseda needs $12,000 USD for a successful surgery in India and currently, her dad and family were able to raise $1,500 from church donations.
Building on the bank’s #LetsDoMore campaign, the donation to 9 month old Aseda happened earlier today [02/12/2016] at the national headquarters of the financial institution. Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, the CEO of UT Bank, Mr. Antwi-Asimeng, stated that the donation was in fulfillment of the one of the company’s pillars – Health, Education and Poverty Alleviation.
“We are happy to support”, said Mr Antwi-Asimeng. “And we will ask our members of staff and the general public to also help to contribute towards the expenses”.
“We sent letters to over 25 companies, and UT Bank is the first to actually reply and come to our aid. My wife and I want to thank the company so much for what you [UT Bank] have done for us,” Twumasi-Ankrah said.
The father, speaking to Pulse.com.gh, stated that the additional $2,000 donated by UT Bank would go a long way in helping and also spur other institutions to come their aid.
Little Aseda Twumasi-Ankrah is a hole in heart patient at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. To donate to help her get her surgery, please donate to UT Cares Foundation Account Number 0001292886019.
