The governing National Democratic Congress on Tuesday morning threw a surprise birthday party for President John Mahama, as he turned 58 today.
Some party executives, including the Central Regional chairman of the party Allotey Jacobs, presented a cake designed with the party's colours - red, black and green – to the president even before he could start his campaign activities in the Central region.
He served as the Vice President from 2009 to 2012 and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the demise of his predecessor Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
Meanwhile, some sections of the public have wished him well as he celebrates the birthday.
