Case adjourned as police hunt for 13 more suspects

The case has been adjourned to September 7 to allow the police more time in their investigations.

Police prosecutors disclosed this in court Thursday during the trial of the 20 persons accused of murdering the soldier.

Maxwell Adam Mahama was lynched on Monday, May 29, 2017, by residents of Denkyira Obuasi on suspicion that he was an armed robber.

A total of 60 suspects arrested in connection with the murder has since made an appearance at the Accra Central District Court.

The state prosecutor, DSP George Amegah in pleading for an adjournment on Thursday told the court that the duplicate docket had been forwarded to the Attorney General's Department for advice.

He also indicated that the investigators were still on the search for 13 others they suspect of taking part in the crime.

Magistrate Ebenezer Kweku Ansah adjourned hearing to September 7.
