Franklin Codjoe says it is a dumb idea

The NDC inaugurated a number of committees which included the political committee, election committee, economic committee

The Executive Director of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe has indicated that the ruling National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) plan to set up a business committee for its members is a “dumb idea”.

The NDC inaugurated a number of committees which included the political committee, election committee, economic committee, social services committee, communication committee, disciplinary committee, complaints committee, the legal committee and the business development committee.

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Portuphy announcing the formation of the Business Development Committee chaired by Trades Minister, Ekwow Spio Gabrah said, the committee will look at “available opportunities for our people, for ourselves, to create jobs in the private sector and possibly in the public sector as well for our people.”

But speaking on Citi FM’s ‘The Big Issue’, the IMANI boss described the idea as dumb.

“Frankly this new idea is really dumb. I don’t think this is what you should do right now when everybody is going through an economic atrophy of a sort. You need to be able to do things right… I have no problem with people setting up committees to do stuff. I will be interested in the party setting up committees to advance the course of social democracy in an innovative state”, he said.
