Ghanaian chicken free from bird flu – Deputy Agric Minister

She has indicated that government has put in place adequate measures to stop if from spreading.

 

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Hannah Bissiw says Ghanaians should feel free and consume chicken and eggs amidst the bird flu scare.

“I’m assuring the public to feel free and consume chicken and eggs because we have put measures in place to prevent further escalation.

“Myself I have taken chicken and eggs today and so each and every one should feel free and consume them since it will not harm them” she said on Asempa FM’s on Thursday.

Meanwhile, ten poultry farmers who are believed to have come into contact with birds infected with Bird Flu have been quarantined by Health officials in Ghana. Ghana’s veterinary officers have also culled over 1000 birds at Kpone in the Greater Accra region.
