36-Year-Old Identified As Suspect Behind Recruitment Scam

A 36-year-old lady named Aisha Asumda has been identified by the Police as the main suspect behind the latest recruitment scam.

Hundreds of young men and women turned up at five police training depots last Saturday for enlistment into the Ghana Police Service left disappointed.

They found that their recruitment letters were fake and that the purported enlistment was a scam.

It took the police a hectic time to send away the victims, most of them university graduates, who had gone to the Kumasi, KoforiduaPwaluguAccra and Ho Police depots with their luggage to begin the training.

The Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Police Service, COP Prosper Ablor, said although the lead suspect is at large, the police have mounted search for her arrest.

The Police have arrested five persons in connection with the fraud.
