Musician dares Deputy CID Boss to arrest him over 'doctored' tape

The Deputy CID boss had claimed that the tape recording making rounds in the media which suggests that she covered up for the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff has been doctored.

According to him, ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah who was part of the team which investigated corruption allegations he leveled against two deputy chiefs of staff is fabricating issues about the case.

The Criminal Investigative Department of the Ghana Police Service recently described as baseless the allegations of corruption levelled against two Deputy Chiefs of Staff by musician, A Plus.

The two Deputy Chiefs of Staff - Abu Jinapor and Asenso-Boakye – were subsequently been cleared of any wrongdoing by the CID.

A statement issued and signed by the Director General of the Police CID, Bright Oduro said after weeks of investigations it was obvious that the allegations by A Plus lack credibility.

An audio believed to be excerpts of a conversation between A-Plus and a female investigator sought to downplay the CID report and suggested a cover-up by the police to protect the two deputy chiefs of staff.

But ACP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in a statement said that even though her voice was what was heard in the audio, the content has been doctored.

In a response, A Plus said that he wonders why the police chief will rush to say that her voice has been doctored without providing any proof.

He said that even though he did not leak the tape, he believes that the conclusion of the investigation was skewed to favour the two presidential staffers.

“They said the allegation was baseless and I have kept quiet now they want to sacrifice me. If you move one step, I will move two” he said Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.

He further argued that the police chief released the statement because her “guilty conscience is haunting her”.
