Asawase NDC pays for Mahama's nomination form
However, the leading contender John Mahama has started a fund raising campaign which reports indicate has yielded over GHS 600,000.

The form which costs GHS 20,000 was paid for by the executives as support to Mr. Mahama's candidature.
The National Democratic Congress opened nominations for its flagbearership role today amidst protests by some of the aspirants over the expensive filing fee being demanded by the party.
The aggrieved aspirants, led by Alban Bagbin, have described the GHS 400,000 filing fee as reversal on the principles in which the NDC was formed.
They have, therefore, decided to boycott the process till the fees are reduced.
The NDC at its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, 29 November at the party’s headquarters in Accra, resolved that all male flag bearer aspirants are expected to pay GHS400,000 as filing fee while female flag bearer aspirants are to pay GHS200,000 and persons with disability aspiring to the same position are to pay GHS150,000.
So far, Mr Mahama is the only candidate to pick the forms.
