Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’ on Tuesday morning reported himself to the Tafo Pankrono Police station after police declared him wanted over the weekend for allegedly attacking the NPP MP for Manhyia North Collins Owusu Amankwa and the constituency Secretary of the area, Felix Ibrahim.
He is currently being detained at the Central Police station.
Leading member of the NPP, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has told Accra-based Joy FM that the continuous detention of Chairman Wontumi is unfortunate.
"I see no reason why he should be kept for that long. They have stripped him of his clothes...He is in very inhumane situation," he added.
