Whiles some are confused and furious, others are optimistic that the appointees will come together, to work for Ghana to succeed in all fields.

Contrary to President Akufo-Addo’s pledge to "preserve, protect and defend the constitution" and to "do right to all manner of persons" regardless of their ethnic or religious background, Pulse.com.gh analyses appointments and things the government made in its first eight months in office

1. 110 ministers

Interesting among the list is Ministry of inner cities and Zongo Development with Boniface Saddique as the appointed Minister.

Several social media commentators seem confused as to the true reason and need for this Ministry.

We have Special Development Initiatives Ministry with Hawa Mavis Koomson as the Minister.

Some think developing Ghanaian Zongos is a special development initiative and should have rightfully fallen under this Ministry, not to have its own Ministry. Why must there be these two ministries seemingly set up to perform the same function, many are wondering.

2.  Citizen vigilante [Delta Force] everywhere

President Nana Akufo-Addo was blamed by his opponent to take full responsibility for the Delta Force’s barbaric attack on the Kumasi circuit court that led to the escape of 13 detained persons from the custody of the court.

Speaking of courts, long before the members of the Delta Force attacked the Kumasi High Court, there had been suggestions for a complete ban on such groups.

Ghanaians continue to ask why Nana Addo have not sanction members of the group.

3. Appointment of close relatives of Nana Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s promise not to operate a "family and friends" government when voted into power has turned out to be one of the many fake campaign promises the NPP used to hoodwink Ghanaians into choosing the party ahead of the NDC in last year’s general elections.

Pulse.com.gh's assessment of appointments made by Nana Addo since the government came to power revealed about a number of persons serving in his oversize government are either the President’s blood relation or cronies.

Nana Addo recently appointed a new Chief Justice, what terms of reference did you give her about the judiciary. Is the radical transformation of the judiciary?

4. Appointment Edward Mahama as ambassador-at-large

The appointment of the 2016 flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Edward Nasigri Mahama as an Ambassador-at-Large came to a shock by Ghanaians.

He was among 21 others who have been appointed to represent Ghana as diplomats in other countries.

They were all sworn in by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. An ambassador-at-large is an ambassador with special duties but not appointed to a particular country.

5. Historic! Nana Addo meets former Presidents for the time

Ghana took its democratic practice a notch higher when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo held a historic meeting with the country’s three former Presidents to discuss national issues.

The meeting, held behind closed doors, is said to have been held in an atmosphere of frank exchanges and mutual respect.

Issues which dominated the meeting included the economy, security and socio-political concerns.
