Mahama to use Asantehemaa’s funeral to launch presidential ambition

Mr Mahama, who governed Ghana between 2012 to 2016, has on multiple media platforms given indications he intends to run for President again.

The newspaper say supporters of Mr Mahama have planned to give him a rousing welcome to Kumasi Saturday evening or early Sunday for the Asantehemaa’s thanksgiving service at the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church today [Sunday December 10].

Quoting a source, the report said the NDC members would be dressed in T-shirts that have been branded with huge images of Mahama with inscriptions that would make him seem the only suitable person to lead the party for the 2020 polls.

Some of the inscriptions in the T-shirts would read ‘We want you back,’ indicating that Ghanaians are yearning for the return of Mr. Mahama as president, and ‘JM 2020 surest bet,’ the source said.
