He explained that the Commission started its preparation “way ahead of the election.”

“We took the nominations on the 18 and 19 of November and shortly after that, we printed our notices of poll and educational posters and we sent them to the constituency for sensitization and education,” he said.

According to him, training the field operatives and we’ve finished training the trainers began on December 5 “and we are now doing the grassroot training that is the people who will actually man the polling stations.”

“Grassroot training will end on the 13 and as we speak now, all the ballot papers and all other material that goes with the election are ready. DIPAC which is the District Interparty Advisory Committee was held in the constituency today where the Commission met with the political parties to discuss some of the preparations for the elections and if the parties had any concerns, they will bring it to the Commission for redress,” he added.

Mr. Owusu Parry indicated that as soon as the training ends on the 13, “we will start sorting out the ballot boxes…at the dawn of the elections; we will start distributing the materials to the various polling stations so that by 7am, all the stations would have received their materials for voting.”
