His comment comes at the back of the minority in Parliament calling for the dismissal of the minister.

The President addressing Parliament during the State of the Nation stated that the positive economic outlook in the last one year is a clear indication that Mr. Ofori Atta is gradually becoming a national asset.

"Mr. Speaker, Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, is proving to be a national asset," he added.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo has said Ken Ofori-Atta must sack himself from office because he's incompetent to manage the economy.

According to him, Ken Ofori-Atta must exit and give way to a competent person to manage the economy.

He wondered why the minister touts himself as a 'financial guru' and runs the economy on crises basis, a development he observed is very shocking to the minority side in parliament.

He said "You don’t need the President to sack him, you need to tell yourself you are incompetent. That he cannot see beyond his nose when it comes to Financial planning. When he comes to you with issuance calendar you better shred it because it means nothing to him."
