Nana Addo's posture to fight corruption worrying - GII
Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) has described as worrying President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's posture on allegations of malfeasance towards the planned purchase of the new Ghana mission building in Oslo, Norway.

Nana Addo during the press encounter at the Jubilee House strongly rejected calls by the Minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament to launch an investigation into the purported acquisition of the controversial building.
He said the call for probe was an attempt by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to distract the government.
The president explained that the NDC, which consistently comes up with bogus allegations with no substance, would jump to another issue later.

The President believes there is no prima facie case for an investigation.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa alleged that the said property was bought by a certain woman for $2.9 million in 2014 and sold to an unknown buyer for $3.5 million in August 2017.
However, the Programme Officer of the GII questioned Nana Addo's commitment to fighting corruption.
"That was very unfortunate… it is unfortunate because the president’s posture over time has been that of consistency in encouraging public institution take up the mantle in investigating issues when they come up. So, if the President turns the wheel, and he is now saying there’s no need for these investigations to happen then it becomes worrying, worrying to civil society and to the people of Ghana who have given him the mandate to ensure that we have a society that’s devoid of corruption.
"Since when did it become evidence that some people are intentionally trying to put impediments in the way of his governance thereby making it impossible for him to rule by putting out allegations? Are we saying that all the allegations that come out are not true? Is that the impression the president is trying to create?" Ms Addah said on Accra-based Starr FM.
