Mpraeso assault: NDC executives settle case out of court

The Mpraeso NDC executives have decided to peacefully work with the DCE for Kwahu South pending investigations by the President

The Eastern regional NDC executives have asked for an out of court settlement in the alleged assault case against five Mpraeso constituency executives. Pulse.com.gh understands the criminal charges against them have been dropped.

The five were arrested for alleged attacking the Kwahu South DCE Joseph Omari Sasu with pepper spray.

In an interview with Pulse.com.gh Nsawam Adoagyir constituency chairman William Attamordzi said "the regional chairman accepted to settle the case out of court."

The offices of all the 33 constituencies in the region were closed down to demand the release of their colleagues and the dismissal of the DCE. Joseph Omari Sasu has been accused by the chairmen of unruly behavior in region.

They  also accused the Eastern Regional Minister Antwi Bosiako of supporting the DCE's alleged misconduct.

Several meetings with the chairmen followed by the release of the five Mpraeso executives got the chairmen to open the offices.

The Nsawam Adoagyir chairman said the issue of the DCE's removal has been left to the Presidential level for investigations.

"Concerning the removal of the DCE we said it is the prerogative of the president to decide.  He said "There has been a lot of talk calming us down to work as family."

He added that both Mpraeso executives and the DCE have agreed to do their work separately and peacefully until investigations into the allegations against the DCE are concluded
