Akufo-Addo's first 100 days a "disaster" - Kofi Adams

Speaking in a broadcast interview, the NDC organiser asked the president to "change gear, change ways and ask himself about the effects of the foundation he is laying."

The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has said the first 100 days of President Nana Akufo-Addo has been a "disaster," saying he has veered off from the trajectory his predecessor, John Mahama, left.

“The Akufo-Addo government has been a disaster; if this country must grow and continue the trajectory the NDC left," he said.

Assessing the president's 100 days in office, Adams blasted the president for appointing 110 ministers, saying too many people are performing overlapping roles.

He said: “you can’t say that the country has no resources yet form an over bloated, oversized and nuisance government with too many persons performing overlapping roles.

“You tell us that 84 ministers and deputies (in the previous administration) was too much a number but you have a hundred and ten of them. "

The Centre for Democratic Development (CCD-Ghana) on Friday also criticised the 110 ministers appointed by president Nana Akufo-Addo, saying it flies in the face of his commitment to protecting the public purse.

In a statement assessing the first 100 days of Akufo-Addo, CDD-Ghana bashed the government for its failure to arrest the attack on state institutions and former government officials by vigilante groups such as the Delta Force and the Invincible Forces.

The statement further slammed the government for sacking heads of state institutions and corporations, saying such actions are inconsistent with good corporate governance.
