Mahama and Bawumia in a heartwarming hug

The two political rivals who often through barbs at each other were pictured having an infectious chat.

President John Mahama and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia were photographed hugging as they joined the people of Dzodzde to mark the Deza festival.

And another photo showed Mahama put his left hand around Bawumia's shoulder as the two smiled proudly to the admiration of onlookers.

The pictures of the two leaders were shared on Facebook by Mahama Haruna with the following comment:

Haruna's post was shared 21 times as at press time.

In the comments, people wondered why we kill one another for politicians.

"Hmmm .......you, allow them to argue, and even kill themselves over them......to them, (Mahama and Bawumia ), politics and the unavoidable competitions--- coming along with it--- is just stage to further deepened the political foot print of their fathers. It's not an all die be die affairs for them. And watch out for their children too...... The Mahama and the Bawumia tradition, have just began to stay," Abdul Rahman Demanga wrote.

Another one said, "So why should people fight, kill or maimed his or her own for this two parties? I tell it's not worth dying for this two parties. Just look at them.This should constantly remember us those two parties will always make the situation be like a hopeless one for them to be at the top always. Say no to trabal and hate politics."
