“Amissah-Arthur did the best that he could, he moved around. Many people were thinking that he was not a politician, I know that he is a technocrat right from the PNDC days when he was the deputy finance minister.”

“And so Amissah-Arthur performed a very technocratic role; for him becoming the vice president, it would take some time for him to shed the skin of technocracy to real politics and he was doing it. Towards the end, he was doing it very well. And I was most impressed with the wife, the wife was more political than he himself; Amissah-Arthur was learning and he was learning very well,” he added.

Many Ghanaians, especially members of the NDC have often accused Amissah-Arthur of not contributing much to the 2016 campaign.

Many argued that he was too diplomatic for politics in Ghana. Many were also disappointed in his decision not to respond to the open challenge that was often thrown at him by the now vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
