The controversial politician is not an appointee of the President but has control on how the country is govern. He is accused of bullying state agencies for contracts as well as the 'Commander-in-Chief' of vigilante groups who are associated with the ruling government.
Kennedy Agyapong's populism has endeared him to the hearts and soul of the NPP activists, which makes him untouchable despite bringing the name of the NPP and the government into disrepute on multiple occassions.
He is on record to have dared the National Security Minister as well as instigating the removal of the then CID boss, Bright Oduro.
2. Yaw Osafo Marfo
From the Eastern Region and a relative of the President, the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, is said to be very influential in government.
He coordinates the economic sectors of the economy as a Senior Minister but has often been accused of usurping the authority of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
3. Gloria Akuffo
Gloria Akuffo was President Akufo-Addo's deputy when he was the Attorney General in the Kufuor administration. She is considered as one of the heavy weight politicians around the President.
4. Asante Bediatuo
He is a cousin and Executive Secretary of the President. He is accused of making appointments without the consent of the president.
5. Gabby Asare Otchere Darko
Gabby Asare Otchere Darko has been one of the influential persons around the President. NPP activists call him the 'Shadow President' due to his closeness with President Akufo-Addo.
He has been publicly accused of manipulating the president and ordering ministers of state about.
6. Oboshie Sai Coffie
Oboshie Sai Coffie has been described as one of the finest politicians around the President. She is considered heavy among the 'kitchen cabinet' of President Akufo-Addo.
She was a former Deputy Chief of Staff and a former Minister in-charge of Tourism under the Kufuor administration.
