The decision to host the manifesto launch at the Tamale Sports Stadium was due to the increasing support the party enjoys in the region, Bugri Naabu added at a media interaction in Tamale.

The party in the 2012 vote increased its parliamentary seat in the region from three to 10, a development that has since unsettled the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC has vowed to win back seats the NPP won from them in 2012.

But Bugri Naabu is promising to increase the current number to at least 25 and also increase the presidential votes from 350,000 in 2012 to not less than 600,000 votes for Nana Akufo-Addo.

To achieve this feat, he called on party activist to canvass voters and help the NPP "rescue Ghanaians from the current economic hardships visited on them by the incompetent NDC administration."

He also called for party unity, saying it is the only way they can match the NDC "boot for boot."
