The women’s organizer for the Bibiani Zongo polling station of the NPP in the Western Region, Amina Morro also known as Kende (28) years has been stabbed to death by an alleged pro-NDC loyalist Mercy Nyamekye (40) also known in the Bibiani community as Nana Yaa.

Narrating the incident to Pulse.com.gh, the Bibiani Anwheaso Bekwai district police commander Superintendent Nana Kumi said, “the deceased, Amina Morro who has been a close friend of Mercy Nyamekye had played a key role previously in reuniting Mercy with her husband Joseph Nyanu after they had divorced after their wedding. While staying in the same house with the couple as tenant, Amina Morro had been in close terms  until one Moses joined them as tenant”.

He added that, “confusion broke out some two months ago when the deceased Amina Morro was alleged to have been having an affair with Moses whom the suspect, Mercy Nyamekye was not so pleased with. That misunderstanding led to the exit of Moses from the house".

Superintendent  Kumi explained that on December 28, “between 9 and 10pm, Moses saw Amina on the streets and decided the two go to wish the landlord; Mercy Nyamkye’s husband Joseph Nyanu a merry Christmas. On their way Mercy Nyamekye hurriedly passed them to get to the house before the two. Upon reaching the house, Mercy Nyamekye met Amina with a scuffle.  After they were separated, Joseph Nyanu locked her wife Mercy in their room in his bid to prevent Mercy from continuing her confrontations".

“Unknown to the husband, she had used the other window to the room of the deceased and has stabbed her in the chest with a pair of scissors and a knife. She absconded thereafter. Amina Morrow could not make it to the Bibiani Government Hospital before she was pronounced dead. The police are now on a search for her”. Supt Kumi concluded.
