His death adds to three the number of persons who have been killed in May 2017 despite the tight security in the area.

It will be recalled that earlier this month, a 15-year-old boy Prince Ankutse was shot dead. A middle-aged woman was also killed by some unknown persons.

Many have attributed the recent deaths in the area to the conflict between the Alavanyo and Nkonya communities over land.

Residents in Alavanyo are furious about the death of the man but have ruled out reprisal attack.
