A road accident between a sprinter bus with registration number BA 2624-16 and an O.A bus also with registration number GT 4629-16 have left 13 people dead on Monday morning.

Gory accident kills 13 people on the spot on in the Brong Ahafo.

The accident occurred at the Subinso-Branam (in the Brong Ahafo region) stretch of the Wenchi-Wa road around 2:00am.
According to the Municipal Chief Executive of Wenchi Alhaji Habib Dauda the Ford bus caught fire after the collision which led to the death of all the passengers in the car. He also said that others who suffered various degrees of injuries have been taken to the Methodist Hospital for medical attention.
Even though the bodies have not been identified Alhaji Dauda stated that they were planning to bury the bodies today.

“We have invited a pathologist and he has come to inspect [the bodies] and he has given us the go ahead to bury them immediately,”
Alhaji Dauda also indicated that preliminary police investigation showed that the driver of the Yutong bus fell asleep behind the wheel. “It came to light that the driver of the Yutong bus was sleeping and there was nothing the Ford driver could do but collide with the Yutong bus,” Alhaji Dauda said.
In February 2016, a road crash which occurred in Kintampo also in the Brong Ahafo Region claimed over 40 lives and left many more injured. This caused the National Road Safety Commission to initiate an investigation into the cause of accident. The report is yet to be made public.
