Deportation of SA 3 appropriate – Prez Mahama

The three — Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis (retd), 54; Warrant Officer Denver Dwayhe, 33, and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani, 45 — were arrested at the EL-Capitano Hotel in the Central Region for engaging in activities that has the potential to compromise national security, according the National Security Council.

President John Mahama has voiced support for the deportation of the three former South African security cops who were in the country to train the security details of the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“As political leaders, if we have any special needs in respect of our security, the right authority to discuss it is the Inspector General of Police,” president Mahama told the Council of State on Monday.

According to him, their presence in the country violated terms of their visa and that the Chief Immigration officers did the appropriate thing by deporting three South Africans.

“The Chief Immigration officer declared that they had violated the terms of their visa and so he removed them from the jurisdiction as he should do appropriately,” he added.
