Ataa Ayi has pleaded with the president to grant him amnesty as he has turned a new leaf

The convicted armed robber, Aryee Aryeetey, aka Ataa Ayi  whois currently serving a 160-year jail term with hard labour on different charges of robbery at the Ankaful Maximum security prisons in Cape Coast has pleaded with President John Mahama to pardon him.

During President Mahama’s visit to the prison facility, Ataa Ayi came out to plead with the president to grant him amnesty as he has turned a new leaf.

The diminutive convict, apparently humbled by prison life bowed before President Mahama pleading to be released.

This comes at the back of government's decision to grant remission and amnesty to prisoners across the country, vowing to immediately tackle the congestion situations at all prisons head on.
