A Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate of Fiasem JHS at Tarkwa in the Western Region has collapsed upon hearing the news of the cancellation of five papers.

The West African Exams Council has canceled four papers already written and another one yet to be written due to a massive leakage.

The boy was said to be discussing the cancellation with his colleagues and teachers when he passed out after a teacher confirmed the news to them.

He has been rushed to the hospital.

A statement signed by its deputy director of public affairs Agnes Teye Cudjoe Wednesday said WAEC is disappointed in the leakage of the Mathematics, Integrated science, Social Studies and English papers on social media platforms including Facebook and WhatsApp.

The release comes after massive public concern over the leakage of the papers ahead of the examination.
