Hajj pilgrims stranded

Over 500 pilgrims were expected to be airlifted from the Tamale International Airport Thursday at 8.30pm but the flight was cancelled.

Managers at the airport have said that the problem is coming from a source and are working assiduously to find a solution.

The Northern Regional Coordinating Council at 12 midnight gave the pilgrims some biscuits and soft drinks in order to calm the situation.

But several of them are still frustrated as they do not know when the flight will take off.

Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to address the pilgrims at the Tamale Sports Stadium today, Friday August 11, 2017.
