Fire Kills Five-year-old Boy In Half Assini

The fire, which burnt down an entire house where the boy and his family resided, is said to have started at around 11pm on Friday.

A five-year-old boy has been confirmed dead in a fire at Half Assini in the Western Region.

According to an eyewitness Osei Kofi, the fire was put out by neighbors because the Fire Service team did not show up when they were called.

“Yesterday around 11pm, we heard that a house was burning and so we rushed there to help put out the fire. We then went to the fire service but they said the front tyre of the fire tender was faulty so they cannot help, so we put the fire out to prevent it from spreading to the other houses,” he narrated.

According to him, a boy of about five years was discovered burnt to death during their search, adding, “this morning when we were searching through the rubbles a man stepped on something that burst and when we looked down we noticed it was a child.
