Hundreds throng Essipong Sports Stadium for security employment at Takoradi Port

Pulse News has learned that there are about 30 vacancies to be filled by the stadium is filled with hundred of people who showed up for the preliminary registration and selection process.

Scores of unemployed Ghanaians on Thursday  trooped to the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi in a bid to be recruited as Security Assistants at the Takoradi Port.

Pulse News has learned that there are  about 30 vacancies to be filled but the stadium is filled with hundred of people who  showed up for the preliminary registration and selection process.

A World Bank report dubbed "Landscape of Jobs in Ghana"  released early on this month revealed that about 48 per cent of youth in the country between 15-24 years have no jobs.

President Mahama in his tour of the Volta region said his government has created about 93,000 jobs under Youth and Employment Agency YEA.

The minister of employment and labour relations Haruna Iddrisu said the government has created about 100,000 job in a year. This has however been disputed by Think Tank Imani Ghana and other political watchers.
