Ghanaian defender close to joining Schalke 04

German club Schalke 04 close in on a transfer deal for Chelsea full-back Abdul Baba Rahman.

The Black Stars player joined Chelsea from Germany at the start of last season but did not get more playing time as he did at Augsburg under former Stamford Bridge bosses Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink in his first season.

Baba Rahman however joined new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for his pre-season training with the Italian reported to be monitoring the progress of the Ghana international to make a decision.

Antonio Conte has made a decision to take Abdul Baba Rahman on loan with Germany being the destination as the player enjoyed wonderful football play during his time with Augsburg.

Negotiations between Chelsea and Kevin-Prince Boateng’s former club Schalke 04 are in advanced stage with the loan deal set to be completed in the next 48 hours.
