Black Queens beat South Africa to win bronze
The Black Queens of Ghana handed the Bayana Bayana of South Africa a 1-0 defeat on Friday in the third place play-off of the 2016 African Women’s Championship in Cameroon

The Bayana Bayana dominated the Black Queens, but couldn’t translate that into goals especially in the first half of the game.
Jane threatened the goal area of Ghana and it took Patricia Mantey to produce several brilliant saves to keep the Queens in the game.
Back from recess the Black Queens started the game revitalised and snatched the match winner through Linda Eshun’s header with just three minutes into the game.
Ghana afterwards managed to contain the South Africa who struggled to break down their defence.
The Black Queens have finished third for the second time in the African Women’s Championship, since its inception in 1991 and placed second on three occasion, but never emerged as champions of the competition.
Hosts Cameroon will face tournament favourites Nigeria in the final of the championship on Saturday.
