Swansea star to miss clash against Jordan Ayew's Aston Villa

Swansea City player Andre Ayew has a knock on his ankle and could miss the Premier League fixture against brother Jordan Ayew

The Ghanaian missed Swansea City game against AFC Bournemouth on last Saturday, a game the Welsh club lost by three goals to two.

Explaining the reason for Ayew’s absence in the game against Bournemouth, Swansea City caretaker boss Alan Curtis told BBC Radio Wales:

“I would not have thought so. It's probably going to be a couple of weeks. He [Andre Ayew] just turned his ankle. He's probably doubtful for the Villa game.”

The injury could mean Andre Ayew will miss an opportunity to play against younger brother Jordan Ayew for the second time in the Premier League after the Ghanaians gave a superb display in the first with both scoring.

Ghana will also be sweating on the fitness of the 26-year-old who could miss the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Mozambique later this month.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was tipped to miss the game against Mozambique with an injury but returned to full fitness to play a full game for his Chinese Shanghai SIPG team last Friday.
