Black Stars captain hails excitement in the Ghana Premier League

Captain of the senior national team of Ghana, Asamoah Gyan is happy with the current state of fans patronage in the Ghana Premier League

The domestic top-flight championship for the past five years have seen less patronage from the local football fans as they preferred the European league games.

The excitement in the ongoing league has been great despite the top-flight championship starting without a major sponsor.

According to the Black Stars skipper who arrived in Ghana last Saturday ahead of Ghana’s 2017 AFCON double header against Mozambique, the excitement  in Ghana’s top flight football has been great.

“Since I arrived in Ghana, I can see the excitement regarding the Premier League have been very great. There is improvement in the league and this is what I have been wishing for,” Gyan told Hot FM.

Asamoah Gyan shrug off an injury to play two games for his Shanghai SIPG team ahead of his call up to lead the national team of Ghana against Mozambique.
