Black Stars captain pulls out of final training with suspected injury

The player who trained with the senior national team of Ghana on Monday and Tuesday has to end earlier in the team’s final training session ahead of the fixture with a suspected tie injury.

Asamoah Gyan recently got injured during an Asian Champions League game for his Shanghai SIPG team. The Ghana captain however recovered to gain match fitness in full games for the Chinese club before travelling to the country for the AFCON qualifiers.

The packed ice on Asamoah Gyan’s tie looked a worrying scene for Avram Grant and the technical team who will also be without Black Stars vice-captain Andre Ayew.

The Swansea City player had a knock on his ankle and was ruled out for up to two weeks. Avram Grant did not name his vice-captain in his 23-man squad for the double header games against Mozambique.

Asamoah Gyan is on 48 goals for the Black Stars of Ghana and looking to hit the 50-goal mark for his country.
