Black Stars coach targets 2017 AFCON triumph with Ghana

Avram Grant has set his eyes on winning the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Gabon

Black Stars coach, Avram Grant says he will deliver Ghana the 2017 Africa Cup of nations (AFCON) title to meet the expectation of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The 61-year-old was told by the GFA to do well at the 2015 AFCON win the 2017 continental showpiece, when he took over the Black Stars in November, 2014.

Although, the Black Stars are struggling to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, after picking up just a point from two games, Grant believes his team will be the champions of the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.

''Yes, we have African Cup. Our target is very clear. I always want to finish my contract. Our contract is the African Cup that was two years and three months,'' Grant told Metro TV.

''I want to win the African Cup. It will not be easy- there're other good teams but this is possible and I want to do it.

''In football you cannot think beyond two three months. 2/3 months is too much. Let's do what we need to do at the African Cup and then we think about what's next.''
