Avram Grant, the former Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham manager currently in charge of Ghana, is reportedly a target for managerless 1860 Munich.

The Munich side, who like city rivals Bayern also play at the Allianz Arena, are without a manager after sacking Kosta Runjaic earlier this week, after taking just 12 points from their opening 13 games this season.

1860 owner spent heavily in the summer, Hasan Abdullah Ismaik, spent heavily in the summer in the hope of the side returning to the top division this season.

Now Ismaik is undertaking the manager search himself, having also demoted former CEO Thomas Eichin, and is believed to be keen on enticing Avram Grant to Germany.

"We already have some candidates in our sights: German and foreign coaches," said Ismaik on Friday. "We are looking for a coach who understands the club and the fans."

However, Grant reportedly faces competition from the only other man to help Chelsea win the Champions League - Roberto Di Matteo.
