The players of the senior national team of Ghana have previously come under criticism for not considering the economic state of the country when making decisions.

Players refused to play until their bonuses were sorted at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil, a story that took the international media by surprise and saw a committee set up locally to investigate the financial details during Ghana’s stay at the competition.
